The dossier exhibition The Emperor and the Duke Charles V in Mantua, at Palazzo Te from 24 March to 25 June 2023, offers the public a reflection on the cultural sense of contemporary Europe starting from the figure of Charles V and his alliance relations with the Italian courts.

the exhibition event, centered on the Portrait of Charles V with the dog executed by Jakob Seisenegger in 1532, will present a corpus of other significant works for the first imperial journey to Mantua which will lead to the appointment of Gonzaga as first duke of the family.
